Welcome to the Remote Learning Support C.A.R.E.S. Program! The C.A.R.E.S. staff hopes you all had a safe and wonderful summer. We are very excited to welcome back our returning CARES families and look forward to getting to know our new parents and children!
We are embarking on a new adventure and we are all in this together!
CARES begins at 8:00AM. Please ensure that your child is dropped off with plenty of time to log-on for remote learning. Please pull up to the Woburn Street’s front door and remain in your car until you can pull up to be the 1st car in line. A staff member will greet you outside, please have your child put on his/her mask and exit the car. If a staff member is not there, please call your CARES phone. Please add us to your contact list for easy communication. 978-815-1507. You are welcome to text or email your Site Coordinator if your child will be absent.
Woburn Street and North Intermediate: Remote learning begins at 8:20AM Shawsheen and West Intermediate: Remote learning begins at 8:55AM *Even though the North and West students will be at the same site, West Intermediate, the schools have different start times to remote learning
You may pick up your child at any time, last dismissal is by 4:00PM. When you arrive for dismissal, if you do not see a staff member, please call the CARES phone. A staff member will walk your child out to your car. Please have your ID ready to show a staff member through your car window. Late fees will go into effect at 4:01PM.
Woburn Street and North Intermediate: Remote learning ends at 2:25PM Shawsheen and West Intermediate: Remote learning ends at 2:55PM
Children will need the following materials:
Mask to wear (backup mask encouraged in backpack)
Fully charged chromebook and charging cord
Headphones
Water bottle
Materials/books needed for remote learning (materials will have to go back and forth between home and CARES)
Change of clothes if appropriate
A favorite quiet activity or pleasure reading book (no electronics or phones)
CARES will provide supplies like pencils, coloring materials, scissors, glue sticks, and blank paper.
CARES will provide breakfast, an afternoon snack, and lunch free of charge. We encourage you to bring a water bottle, preferably with a straw to be sipped easily underneath a mask. Masks will be worn at all times unless eating or during a specified mask break. You are welcome to provide your own lunch or an extra snack.
Once remote learning sessions are over for the day, we will participate in regular CARES activities like crafts, games, and outside! Playgrounds are off limits, but we will still be able to utilize the field or the hard top. Please have your child bring a jacket as it’s beginning to get chilly!
